Article Processing Charge (APC)

Submission and Review Fees

The IFHAM International Journal of Halal Ecosystem Studies does not charge any fees for manuscript submission or peer review.

Authors may submit manuscripts and undergo the full editorial and peer review process free of charge.

Publication Fee (Article Processing Charge)

Upon acceptance for publication, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of RM500.

The APC is applied only after a manuscript has been formally accepted and is intended to support the costs associated with open-access publishing, including:

  • Editorial and production management
  • Online hosting and platform maintenance (OJS)
  • DOI registration and digital preservation
  •  Copyediting, typesetting, and publication administration

Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions.

APC Waiver Policy

The journal recognises that some authors may face financial constraints. As such, APC waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Authors who are unable to pay the APC may submit a formal waiver request, including a brief justification, after acceptance.
  • Waiver requests are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or designated Editor.
  • Waivers are granted solely on the basis of merit and financial need.
  • Editorial decisions are made independently of any APC or waiver considerations.

The journal is committed to ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent the publication of high-quality scholarly work.

Transparency and Independence

  • APC payment or waiver approval does not guarantee publication.
  • Manuscript acceptance is based exclusively on academic quality, originality, and relevance, following peer review.
  • The APC policy is implemented in accordance with international best practices for ethical and transparent academic publishing.
